ABOUT ME...

My name is Grzegorz Sawa-Boryslawski and this is my webpage dedicated to all fans who love great music by Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. I am 18 years old, I live in Wroclaw, a great city, placed in southwest of Poland. I live in a two-flat alone-standing house in very quiet quarter, so I have time and terms to learn some school things and play the guitar.

I play in the band on the second guitar - we called it (the band) Intestine. We played in some festivals in Wroclaw, including "Wybryk" (we presented Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter), and "Walek" (we presented Alice In Chains' Angry Chair also Pearl Jam's Soldier of Love and Yellow Ledbetter). Now we wrote some our own pieces of music, is a combination of grunge and rock music with the solos like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Anyway, I will put here some our songs later. Our music makes no resemblance to Dire Straits / Mark Knopfler music. But I try sometimes to play their songs at home.

My music tolerance isn't so good... I used to be very, very mad on people who buy shit like Britney Spears or Backstreet Boys or something like this "music". I listen to various artist and styles, of course, my favourities are Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler, also I love to listen to the music of Pink Floyd (we had some fan-meetings in last years and it was really great experience to be there). Also I love to listen grunge music: Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, some Nirvana too. Rock'n'roll is very, very close to me too, so I love to hear some Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Sheryl Corw... in blues my favourities are: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendix..... I also like jazz music, my favourite musicians are: Pat Metheny and John Coltrane.

My guitar stuff:

GUITAR: Fender Standard Stratocaster, maple, midnight blue metalic "The Standard Stratocaster is the foundation from which all Strat® models come. PICKUPS: I also changed my Standard Strat® pickups to Fender Delta Tones, and sound is more brighter, and it's great. "Tight high-end and rich tone is the hallmark of a great sounding instrument. Each Delta Tone Strat pickup features Alnico 5 magnets with polysol magnet wire wrapped around a plastic bobbin to produce the tone you would expect from a true classic. Want even more? The 250k no-load tone pot (included) functions as a normal tone control from 1-9, but at 10 takes the tone control out of the circuit leaving your guitar "plugged straight in" for more bass, high end and output."

AMPS: I use Laney LC50-MKII amp for home and stage use. "The LC50-II is a sweet sounding amp, the class A/B output section pumps out 50 watts RMS of meaty valve power. Launched in 1997 to worldwide acclaim the LC50-II builds upon the tried and tested tone bed of the original, but R'n'D have managed to squeeze even more tone and performance out of this amplifier. A pair of 5881's push out 50 watts RMS of singing valve power. Clean tones are taken care of by Channel A, fully equipped with its own 3 band EQ whilst lead tones are pumped out by Channel B. Combine flawless tone with an Accutronis reverb and a global FX loop and you have a monster of an amp."

OTHER ACCESSORIES: I use also ZOOM GFX-707 effects processor, GHS Boomers 52s strings or RotoSound rotopinks strings (10-46, light).
